چکیده
Background: Gestational age estimation in third trimester is very crucial to impart holistic antenatal care and a pre-requisite plan various interventions. Transcerebellar diameter can predict gestational reliably as it grows progressively with gestation not affected by fetal lie, skull shape growth disorders. This study was performed compare TCD conventional parameters like BPD, HC, FL AC accurate prediction of age. Methods: Fetal biometry on 140 women singleton pregnancy abdominal ultrasound. Women included were sure their LMP, had dating scan anomalies ruled out. Analysis done using Pearsons coefficient (r) regression, p<0.05 considered statistically significant. Results: GA LMP showed maximum correlation (r=0.920 p<0.001) followed HC (r=0.871) (r=0.833). Least seen BPD (r=0.789). On comparing parameters, correlated maximally (r=0.882) (r=0.868) (r=0.853) least (r=0.793).Conclusions: serve reliable parameter for evaluation whose unknown or when they present late without having because strong significant TCD. Moreover, also provide cases restriction, macrosomia, skeletal dysplasia where AC, becomes unreliable. Therefore, should be routine biometry.

Fetal biparietal diameter, head circumference, abdominal circumference and femur length. A comparison by race and sex.
Biparietal diameter (BPD), head circumference (HC), abdominal circumference (AC) and femur length (FL) were compared by race and sex in 5,405 ultrasound examinations done on 2,831 women. Black fetuses had significantly longer FL than white fetuses; male fetuses had larger BPD, HC and AC than females. The differences in BPD, HC and AC correlated with the different birth weights observed between ...

متن کاملDiscrepancy in ultrasound biometric parameters of the head (HC--head circumference, BPD--biparietal diameter) in breech presented fetuses.
BACKGROUND A comparison of fetal ultrasonographic biometric parameters of the head (head circumference - HC, biparietal diameter - BPD) in breech presented fetuses. METHODS Ultrasound biometry was performed in accordance with the method presented in the reference tables. In all breech presented fetuses, the HC, BPD and FL (femur length) were measured. High-risk and multiple pregnancies were e...
متن کاملCerebellar Measurements with Ultrasonography in the Evaluation of Fetal Age
The use of ultrasonography has significantly improved the evaluation of fetal growth and development and has permitted prenatal diagnosis of a variety of congenital malformations.Campbell et al in (1968) studied fetal cephalometry in the second trimester and determined that the fetal head can be measured from 13 week of pregnancy2. BinholzJ.C(1982) studied the new born cerebellar size both in f...
